Anevia’s Compatibility with 3D Content Announces a New Era of IPTV and Video on Demand Services

Anevia announces 3D compatibility with all its solutions, including advanced and innovative features such as 3D mosaic and time-shifting of 3D content.

Paris, 1st September 2010

Anevia, a leader in video streaming solutions and service infrastructure for live TV and video on demand (VOD), today announced that its full solution range is compatible with 3D TV content, opening up a whole new world of services for communication providers. A live demonstration of Anevia’s 3D Mosaic Generator will be shown at IBC for the first time.

Anevia’s compatibility with 3D TV and video content allows delivery of advanced, feature-rich live and VOD services:

Live 3D TV:
Delivery of live 3D free to air and pay TV channels (satellite, DTT or cable) as part of an IPTV package. A 3D Mosaic Generator allows viewers to see all available 3D channels on one screen, simplifying program selection.
3D video on demand:
Delivery of 3D video on demand services with time-shifting features such as Start Over, network personal video recorder (nPVR), Catch-Up TV and Pause TV. All features allow subscribers to pause, fast forward and rewind 3D content.

Anevia’s 3D IPTV and VOD solutions address 2 main markets:

Fixed telecom operators, cable operators, and broadcast service providers
Hospitality and corporate markets including hotels, healthcare establishments, cruise ships, enterprises, media and press offices, event venues and residential developments

To enable service providers on both markets to integrate 3D content into their packages as simply and as rapidly as possible, Anevia’s solutions are compatible with all 3 current market standards:

Side by side: the 2 frames (left eye and right eye) are encoded side by side in a single picture
Color code: the 2 frames are encoded with different colors
Multi View Video Coding: a promising new standard that has already been chosen for 3D Blu Ray
