Anevia and Allin Interactive Announce Coordinated Deployment to Provide Innovative, High Definition ITV and VOD Solutions for Cruise Ships

Anevia and Allin Interactive (a division of Allin Corporation) have combined Allin’s DigiMix interactive television system with Anevia’s Toucan 500 advanced streaming server to provide next-generation, HD entertainment services to cruise ships. Norwegian Cruise Lines recently selected this joint solution for its pioneering new ship, Norwegian Epic.

8th September 2010

Anevia, a leader in video streaming solutions and service infrastructure for live TV and video on demand (VOD), and Allin Corporation (Pink Sheets: ALLN), a leading provider of solutions-oriented application development, technology consulting and systems integration services, today announced a partnership to provide some of the largest cruise ships in the world with advanced, high-definition, interactive video services. The combined Allin-Anevia offering has recently been implemented by Norwegian Cruise Lines on its largest and most innovative new ship, Norwegian Epic.

Anevia’s video streaming and infrastructure solutions provide fixed and mobile telecom operators, cable companies and satellite service providers with a full range of carrier grade products for flexible, scalable and manageable video services that can be delivered to TVs, PCs, Internet-connected devices and mobile phones. Anevia has also developed 3Screens - a platform that manages delivery of video content to multiple devices for IPTV, Mobile, Broadcast, and many other services.

Allin Corporation, through its Fort Lauderdale, Florida division, Allin Interactive, is the worldwide leader in advanced interactive television solutions for the cruise market. The company provides turn-key, integrated ITV and video on demand services in guest staterooms. Allin Interactive has delivered ITV services to over 70,000 cabins on over 60 cruise vessels since 1996, and current implementations touch nearly 100,000 guests every week while completing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of transactions each year.

Allin Interactive has partnered with Anevia, a leader in video streaming technologies, to combine Allin’s IP-based DigiMix™ ITV system with the Toucan 500 advanced streaming server

The Toucan 500 server is a video on demand (VOD) and network Personal Video Recording (nPVR) streamer that provides a full range of value-added HD services including Catch-up TV, Pause TV, Start Over and Playlist. The solution is part of a collection of IPTV and VOD products that deliver services to millions of users worldwide.

“The combined solution allows cruise ships to provide guests with branded content and interactive services for a unique media experience,” stated Brian Blair, Managing Director of Allin Interactive. “Services are delivered via the ship’s IP network, providing a full range of next-generation, high definition (HD) TV and video on demand services in each guest stateroom. Services can be populated with videos, photos and business-specific content such as shore excursion ticket preview and purchasing, gaming, shopping, spa appointments and more. Anevia’s high performance technologies, combined with the DigiMix system, allow us to deliver an exceptional range of services.”

The Allin-Anevia solution has already been chosen by Norwegian Cruise Line for its new ship, Norwegian Epic. Norwegian Epic is the line’s largest and most innovative Freestyle Cruising ship. Among many other onboard firsts and unique features, the ship incorporates several new types of accommodations, which feature flexible and innovative in-cabin entertainment. Norwegian Epic launched in June and is currently making 7-day Caribbean sailings from Miami.

“Anevia is delighted to be part of such an exciting and exceptional project,” commented Patrick Rabu, VP Sales at Anevia. “The Norwegian Epic uses some of the most advanced entertainment technologies available today and provides Anevia and Allin with an excellent reference for our next-generation TV and video solutions. It also shows that our combined offering is unbeatable in regards to quality, cost effectiveness, rapidity of deployment and operational efficiency.”
