When ViaManager On Demand receives a content request from the set-top box or from a mobile telephone, it allocates the most appropriate server according to an intelligent algorithm which takes into account the load of each server, the availability of content and the geographic proximity.

ViaManager on Demand also monitors services. If it detects any anomalies, it sends an alert and either proposes or automatically carries out corrective action (for example, fail-over to a duplicate machine if service continuity is at risk).
  
The solution allows the system administrator to monitor the state of the streaming farms and the VOD service quality.
