Mobile video has now reached a level of quality that makes it viable as a revenue generating service. However, mobile operators face many challenges in the deployment of video services which traditionally operate in a different technical environment to that of voice.
Anevia’s expertise in both video streaming technologies and mobile networks has enabled the company to develop solutions that meet the specific requirements of mobile operators and their users.

3Screens™ approach
Anevia’s 3Screens™ approach allows operators to deliver video services to mobile phones, TVs, PCs and Internet-connected devices using the same platform.
Subscriber-friendly features
Anevia proposes time-shifting features that make mobile TV viewing a more enjoyable experience. Pause on Call, for example, automatically pauses live TV content when a call arrives, allowing the subscriber to choose to take the call or not. When the call is finished, the subscriber resumes viewing exactly where the program paused, with no loss of content. Start Over on Mobile is another feature that allows subscribers to return to the beginning of a live TV program while the program is still running.
System Modularity
Anevia’s solutions allow operators to expand service infrastructure by addition rather than by replacement so that infrastructure can be scaled to growth in the customer base. Geographic distribution is also simplified which is especially beneficial for video on demand systems where the streaming servers need to be located close to the end users in order to minimize network traffic.
System Management
Carrier networks can be huge and many services operate in a “live” environment so it is essential for the service operator to have solutions that provide easy and efficient system management. Operators need to have full system visibility and constant monitoring with the capacity to support and maintain any part of the network at all times.
Anevia’s solutions meet all these requirements:
Cost optimization
Anevia’s solutions are software-based. They can be deployed on any mainstream server hardware (IBM, HP, Dell for example). This delivers three main cost benefits:
