The Sunbird streamers are MPEG encoders with IP output. These servers are designed to encode an analogical signal in real-time in MPEG-2 from an RF antenna, a composite or S-video input.
For example, these equipment can be used to stream analogical hertzian TV channels encoded in MPEG-2 format at 5 Mbit/s through the network of an hotel with reception on IP set-top boxes or a PC software player.
