Ask our expert – Damien Lucas, Anevia Co-founder
What is the best way to secure pay-tv content with IPTV?
There are several ways to secure and deliver pay-tv content including conditional access systems (CAS), digital rights management (DRM) and scrambling. Different content owners might have different preferences or existing agreements with CAS and DRM providers. When building an IPTV head-end, it’s important to make sure that it’s possible to support all the major CAS systems out there such as Verimatrix, Conax, and Nagravision. How can I build a catch-up TV service?
Our catch-up TV solution is based on two Anevia products, our ViaLive DVB-to-IP gateway and our ViaDemand software based VoD server. ViaLive receives live TV content and streams to viewers and ViaDemand simultaneosly. ViaDemand’s circular buffer technology will record specified channels continually and then serve the recorded video streams as catch-up TV content.
